Band

Shortcut 2 Infinity is a Power Rock band from Solothurn… the Swiss capital of Rock

Influenced by the rough rocks in their home by the Southern Jura Mountains, the band has a style between Power Rock and Metal. Raw and uncut like a Jura Mountain boulder is what they sound like, too. Honest, unadorned, and going straight into the ears at full power! The band name, by the way, comes from the search for wormholes to the Gods of Rock Nirvana and was not chosen because both guitarists believe they have the best hairstyles in existence.

Foundation (December 2017)
Shortcut 2 Infinity was founded in December 2017 in Solothurn, Switzerland, on the initiative of Adrian „Adi“ Rieder (bass) and Alain Kunz (guitar). In early 2018 David „Dävu“ Zimmermann (guitar) and Florian „Flo“ Baumgartner (drums) joined the band.

First steps (2018-2019)
In 2018, the quartet was completed by Angelique Radegonde as a singer. Together with her, the foundations for the first songs were laid. However, the collaboration was already put on ice again towards the end of 2018 due to musical differences. With the half-Australian Aaron Hasler, however, the right uncompromising voice was found in the spring of 2019.

Inspired by various idols from their youth as well as current bands, the five guys started to work on a unique repertoire of their own songs.

When they were ready to take to the stages, Corona-Lockdown started. Shortcut 2 Infinity made the best of it and further focussed on writing songs and continually working on their repertoire, chiseling their songs and blasting new ideas out of the rocks of Solothurn.

The path to the first EP (2019-2022)
Already in July 2020 the first song „I Know“ was recorded in the studio and released. This received consistently good reviews and also found a corresponding response on the popular streaming platforms. After just under a year, more than 100,000 streams were counted on Spotify. A respectable success for the unknown newcomers.

The first album, titled „Monster“, was self-produced by the band and released on August 11, 2022. Stylistically, the songs range between power rock, grunge rock and hard rock with slight metal influences. The songs were again recorded, mixed and mastered by Robin Meroni at the Klangkaserne in Bettlach. In order to promote the upcome release,  the band could be heard live at various concerts, for example at the Kesselhaus of the Attisholz Areal.

Florian „Flo“ Baumgartner (drums) announced his departure from the band at the end of 2022.

New Beginning (2023)
After a short but very creative period of working together as a quartett Harry Käser joined the band as the new drummer.
